Getting Ready For Departure

So here it is, two days before departure, and although we are both brimming with anticipation, clearly there is a difference between how a woman gets ready for vacation and how a man gets ready for vacation. Case in point, here is what I have done so far this week to get ready: (not counting of course all the stuff I did PREVIOUSLY like researching the various cruise lines, booking the trip, booking the flights, booking the car service, etc.)
  • Taken all the luggage out of the closet and prepared it for packing
  • Visited/chatted on CC & LCT on a daily basis to keep up with the latest RSSC information
  • Checked the weather numerous times for all of our ports plus our departure city
  • Made sure that staff at work had everything covered in my absence
  • Set up an email account known only to my children so they could stay in contact with me on the ship without my having to read through work or other messages
  • Cleaned the house "stem to stern"
  • Worked on my cruise blog
  • Wrote in my cruise journal
  • Put Mike's dress outfits together
  • Packed my own suitcases
  • Helped Mike go through his clothes to determine what to pack
  • Went to Macy's to buy Mike bathing suits since he left his in Myrtle Beach
  • Went to wine store to buy some of the wines that Debbie said were on the in-suite wine list so Mike could try them in advance
  • Showed Mike how to download pictures from the camera to the laptop in case I am "lost" in the casino and he needs something to occupy his time
  • Contacted all my business appointments to schedule them for first week of February
  • Made sure all the bills are paid up to date
  • Contacted credit card companies to let them know we will be out of town
  • Made arrangements for friends/family to stop by and check on my teenage son
  • Made lists for my teenage son to remind him of things like that cats need to eat daily
Here is what Mike has done so far this week to get ready:
  • Handed me two pairs of casual pants to wash
  • Set aside an hour tomorrow to go to the indoor golf range to practice his swing
Don't misunderstand....I'm not complaining; I'm only saying that maybe it wouldn't be so bad to be a guy every now & then!!

Isn't this always the way??? My Mike travels all the time and packs his suitcase in less than 10 minutes...the reason *he* can do that is I spent hours getting all the clothes prepared.

I can't even go there when we both go on a trip....I work from a list! :p
